parkrun are free weekly timed 5k events that take place every 9:30am every week at 74 locations across the country. There are also 13 junior 2k events for kids aged 4 to 14-years-old that take place every Sunday at 9:30am.

Operation Transformation is teaming up with parkrun to help you get up and active so if you’ve yet to try it out, now is your chance to join in on this fun and physical event. With 74 parkruns taking place across the country every Saturday morning at 9.30am, this free public event is enjoyable for participants of all abilities – you can run, walk or jog, push a buggy or walk the dog. All are welcome!

74 venues nationwide will be ready for the walkers and runners of Ireland at 9:30am on the 27th January 2018.

All participants must register before taking part. To register, simply find your local parkrun at www.parkrun.ie and fill in your details to receive your parkrun barcode and gain free entry to any parkrun world wide.

Operation Transformation will be filming in various locations and we’re inviting you to walk, jog, or run the 5k route with this years Leaders – David, Felicity, Mary, Sarah & Wayne.

If you cannot make it to one of our Leader locations, there are parkrun locations all over the country.

After you register please remember to print and bring your barcodes. Printed barcodes are used at all parkrun events to record your result.

For this weekend, our leaders will be at their local park runs. The details are below:

David Cryan will be with Aoife Hearne at Griffeen Valley Park in Lucan.

Felicity Moroney will be in St. Anne’s Park, Raheny with Kathryn.

Mary Diamond will be joined by Karl at McMahon Park, Claremorris in Co. Mayo.

Sarah O’Callaghan will be in Halton’s Amenity Park, Monaghan Road, Cootehill, Co. Cavan and Eddie will be joining her.

Wayne O’Donnell will be in the Regional Park, Ballincollig in Co. Cork with Ciara.
